The anointing of Mary : John 12

Wasting stuff on Jesus, that’s Mary’s lesson for us. She poured the equivalent of one year’s salary on the Messiah’s feet. Like Judas, we also experience shock. We also want to attack her act of worship as impractical and too costly. After all we have to use our ‘common sense’! Mary shows us that sometimes we should follow our lavish hearts and give impractically, give lavishly, extravagantly. Because in God’s economy this is what is really worth it.
