Friends,  Thank you for the overwhelming response to the questions.  I was on a silent retreat for a few days and then took some friends for a wilderness hike.  When I came back I read through the comments.  For the next few weeks we will look at every rationalization and deconstruct it.  Hope you’ll continue with the conversation.
