Boxing God in
We tend to box God in. Allowing Him to love only those we love. Conversely we desperately try to ally God against our enemies. Those we hate must be at the centre of God’s anger too. It is this kind of thinking that is challenged by the famous verse in John 3:16 … For God so loved the ‘world’. It is a box-shattering statement. One we have to heed to, otherwise we will once again turn God into a tribal symbol of our own egos.
