Thank you for the honest sharing of your journey! Iit is encouraging!!
t is most definitely a human habit that makes us regress so easily into old habits. It made me think how quickly I revert back to " truths of the past" and the importance for me to be plugged into the Source of Life, and allow Him to change/reset me back to His Way!!! I think a Lenten Angiogram should be incorporated more often into our rhythm!

Thanks, Tom! This is so relevant in the HIV world we work in - we so easily label people living with HIV. We send out a weekly Bible message in a Time of HIV to more than 650 people. I would love to send this out one week, if you would give me permission? I will of course give credit and link to the original post. Please let me know management@cabsa.org.za

I wish it was not necessary for sickness and pain and hunger and poverty to be part of our journey. But then on the other hand - Jesus says you are blessed Tom, blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh, blessed are you who are vulnerable, for you will be strong. A weird understanding of being blessed but it is good and we are safe in the arms of a good and Beautiful God.

Tom, this immediately caught my attention as I was also wearing similar colour coded labels in a hospital in Feb. I underwent surgery to fix a broken tendon on my right foot last week, 28 Feb. A plate broke on my foot in mid-Jan. The doctor who stitched me up assured me that the tendon was fine but after some weeks I was still unable to move my right big toe in the same manner as my left toe. I'm realising I need to write a blog post to tell the whole story, but as I will be on crutches now for at least 2 weeks, it's amazing how many positives are coming out of this experience

One of my labels said "Epileptic". When I had my first seizure at age 16, it was extremely hard for me to accept. I'm incredibly grateful that I have only had about 5 major seizures in my life thus far. The most liberating moment for me was when I heard Johnty Rhodes say on a radio add something like: "Hi, I'm Johnty Rhodes. I have epilepsy...." Later I heard someone comment that he didn't say: "I'm an epileptic", but "I have epilepsy". He was removing the label for himself and for others, basically saying that epilepsy didn't define or even identify him. His identity was Johnty Rhodes, who happened to live with this thing called epilepsy.

And I can so identify with what you say about that keeping you humble and reminding you about your own brokenness and fragility.

Sorry to hear about your ordeal Tom. So glad that you are recovering.
